Recording your gameplay, a Skype phone call, creating a video tutorial, or simply taking a screenshot of what’s in your screen are some of the tasks that you can easily achieve with Soft4Boost Screen Recorder. Its ease of use and its high level of flexibility will let you create high-quality recordings of whatever is happening on your desktop, and play them back straight away thanks to its built-in video player.

Be it the entire screen or a selected portion of it, selecting the recording area is as easy as it comes. By clicking on the borders of the default area with your mouse and dragging them to the desired position you can select specific areas of your screen for recording. Besides, the program’s controls that appear in the bottom side of the screen will allow you to select the entire desktop or an active window with just one click. Starting the recording is just as easy, but you may want to define some settings and parameters first.

In the Settings dialog you can define your favorite hotkeys to control the program’s main actions – stop and pause the recording, and take a screenshot of your desktop. The next step is to choose the output video recording among FLV, WMV, and AVI, and then decide if you want the recording to include a live audio stream or not, mouse clicks included. As for the mouse cursor, the next tab will let you decide if you want its movements to be part of the recording, its size, and if you want to add some highlight effects to it. Finally, you can choose your preferred image file format to save your screenshots among PNG, JPEG, and BMP.

Once you’ve configured Soft4Boost Screen Recorder to fit your preferences, you can start the recording by clicking on the red button provided and control the recording using the hotkeys you defined. As soon as you finish the recording, the program will launch its own video player and will play back your recording to help you check the results.

You will surely find out there other screen recording tools with a more extensive functionality (such as the possibility of recording not only your desktop but also your webcam), more detailed output settings (to define the video and audio quality), and a lower price tag, but not all of them are as easy to set up and use as Soft4Boost Screen Recorder.
