All you need to do is select the area you wish to record and use the buttons in the control bar provided to start and stop the recording, to zoom the image in or out, or to add your own drawings, creative effects, and handwriting on the fly. Lecture recording is a neat new feature designed to allow you to record your own talks or presentations. You have the option to combine a PowerPoint presentation with your webcam so that people can see and hear you in a PiP on top of your PowerPoint. You don’t need to record a lecture to use your webcam, though – you can easily record personal messages in full screen and send them to your friends and family in a snap. Actually, media upload is another of the great features that GOM Cam provides – it allows you to share your images and recordings to Facebook, YouTube, and even Google Drive so that you can send them along with your e-mails.

The built-in video editor is surely one of the program’s main functions and one of its many highlights. It offers a Quick mode and an Advanced Mode so that both novice and more experienced users can make the most of its many functions. Thus, you can put together in the same video as many recordings as you wish, add funny and artistic effects to it, and add some background music to your creations. As a bonus, this comprehensive tool has a few surprises to offer, such as the option to extract the audio of any of your recordings. All the others are for you to discover.

GOM Cam is an excellent option to consider for anyone looking for a high-quality video capture and recording tool. It comes in three flavors – Free, Basic, and Pro. The free version is a simple trial with a number of time limitations, ads, and watermarks that is mainly used to help you get the hang of it. The other two options carry no ads and are available for a fee. It is true that there are free tools out there that will also let you create your tutorials and capture streaming video from your desktop, but not so many of them are capable of offering you a similar range of editing and sharing options, all in one intuitive and clear interface.
