1st Sound Recorder is a basic-looking audio recorder that has some advanced features as well. The main window of the program is really plain, featuring record, pause, and stop buttons.
It shows the location where your recordings are stored and the type of recording you are carrying out, with quality settings. There is also a button that takes you to an audio editor with a number of options. You can edit your recordings as soon as you are done, adding fade in and fade out effects, silence, and gaps to your recordings. Also, you can cut and join them.
The codecs used by 1st Sound Recorder save files in WAV and MP3 formats. Both are encoded on the fly, so you don't have to wait after your recordings are done. There is also a noise reduction feature that eliminates background noise.
This recorder also features a scheduling option. It is quite basic but it does allow you to set a start and finish time, so that the application can record automatically. Graphically, the main window doesn't look too hot. The included audio editor looks a bit better and it has a lot of functionality.
