Zed! is a file encryption program designed for users who need to protect sensitive data from prying eyes. This utility comes in handy whenever you need to send emails containing private documents to co-workers or clients and wish to encrypt the attachment files.
The developers let you choose between 3 types of licenses: Free (comes with a limited amount of features), Pro (unlocks several features), and Enterprise (gives you access to all available features). You can find a complete list of features on the Download page from the product's website. So you're free to choose the version that best fits your needs.
When you launch the application for the first time you need to create a personal account in a setup assistant. You won't lose much time entering the necessary information. Afterwards, you can launch Zed! on your Mac and start creating containers filled with sensitive documents.
Using this program is very simple. After you create a container for your data on the main window of the app, you can drag-and-drop the documents you wish to protect. The utility immediately compresses the data and saves the container to any folder within your Mac. The documents that are stored in the container can be accessed by other users only if they enter the master password.
In my testing, Zed! worked perfectly. I had no problem creating the container files or configuring its settings.
Hence, I definitely think it's worth buying this app for your Mac if you need to encrypt private files.
