The Literal Translation of the Bible was undertaken by a Scottish publisher Robert Young in 1863. Young studied several oriental languages and thus he was able to make an English translation of the Scriptures. He opted for a strictly literal translation of the original Hebrew and Greek texts. In this sense, his work is closer to the Hebrew versions due to its use of the present tense in most verbs, as well as it use of the word "Age" instead of "Eternity", among other noteworthy characteristics.
ActionBible allows you to study this important version of the Scriptures using this free module. ActionBible is an electronic Bible reader (and much more than that). This program allows you to make your own notes and cross-references related to your readings, as well as program tasks to be performed. It also has a powerful search engine that lets you search for words or phrases in the chapter or book you are reading, as well as in the entire Bible. Included with the program is the English Standard Version of the Bible, and you can add more modules like this one, as well as other versions. If you are a Bible scholar, cleric or layperson interested in studying the Scriptures, then this program and its modules will be very useful for you.
