XnView Shell Extension is an excellent tool that adds many image options to the context menu. It allows you to convert, rotate and more, any image file directly from My PC or the Windows Explorer just by right clicking on the image file. And the best of all is that you don't have to open any program. After installing the application you can right click on any image file and you will see the thumbnail of the selected image on the context menu and a set of tools below it. Among these options you can choose to directly convert the selected image into any of the listed formats: GIF, BMP, JPG, PCX, PNG, TIF, and TGA. But if you open the "Convert" window you can select more output formats, resize the image, and select a different output folder. Other useful options you can use are: rotate image, copy to clipboard, save clipboard to file, set as wallpaper, send to ImageShack (image hosting website), and edit the IPTC data. XnView Shell Extension includes an "Options" window that allows you to change the way these options are displayed on the context menu, e.g. you can show all the context menu options on a sub-menu.
