Xilisoft iPad Video Converter lets you convert videos to play them on the iPad. This is a commercial video converter that can be used to convert pretty much any video file into a format that the iPad can play natively. The application even comes with conversion profiles, which are optimized conversion settings, for the iPad. Thus, if you select one of those, you don't even have to select the video quality or anything like that.
Xilisoft iPad Video Converter has a very nice graphical user interface. It is smooth and very clean. It lacks a bit when it comes to extra features, but Xilisoft's Mac converters are like that. Maybe in future versions they will step it up a little.
In terms of performance, this converter works very well. The supported output formats are: H.264, MPEG-4 and MOV for video and AIFF, AAC, MP3, WAV, M4A and WAV for audio.
There is a nice feature that lets you send the files that you convert straight to iTunes, which saves you an additional step.
All in all, this is a nice converter. It works well, it supports the formats that the iPad plays and it can open most video files. At $35.95, it might be a little expensive for some users, especially because it lacks a video editor and trimmer. Many other multi-format converters sell for that price and support the iPad as well.
