Xattred is an intelligent tool, developed by Eclecticlight, that is capable of editing the extended attributes of MacOS. It's extremely easy to install as it only requires a few mouse clicks.
Visually, it introduces a minimalist GUI, with some dispersed menu tabs, and two sections for displaying information. It lacks customization features and the background looks faded. The menu contrast is low, which reduces the text visibility.
With Xattred, users are able to view and make adjustments to xattr attributes of either files or folders. It includes the option to create new xattrs with arbitrary contents and add a quarantine xattr to force a full gatekeeper check without downloading the file.
Moreover, it provides support for adding and removing xattr tags, and if you have any difficulties in using its features, Xattred comes with instructions that can be found in the documentation.
Overall, Xattred is a simple file editor, free to use, that provides individuals with the means to view and edit file attributes.
