Window Detective may turn out a very useful utility for developers during the debugging process as it is able to intrude on Windows operating system to get data about running applications, particularly their windows.
Although it is not intended for beginners, this application’s interface is not difficult to use, yet it involves knowledge of programming. A left panel will show running windows as a hierarchy, using an expandable tree-like control. There you can navigate to find a specific window property or you can also use the Pick window button to go straight to the window in the forefront. Additionally, there is a search button to find the element you are looking for by entering text.
Once you have found the element, you can visualize its properties or edit them. Other options in the contextual menu will let you edit window styles and show or hide the selected element. Additionally, you may ask the program to flash the element so that you can identify it in the screen.
Moreover, you can have access to the system info and change elements like system metrics and color palette.
