The other participants are then required to either play a combination of cards with a higher rank or opt to pass their turn. The player who plays the combination of cards with the highest rank emerges victorious in the round and gets to start the subsequent round.

The player who assumes the role of the Asshole, being the last to finish each round, is at a disadvantage. They are obliged to hand over their two most valuable cards to the President. In exchange, the President has the option to give their two least valuable cards to the Asshole. This exchange occurs after every round. As the game unfolds, players strive to either ascend from the position of Asshole to President or avoid descending from President to Asshole.
