Clanker.io is an exciting isometric pixel art shooter that thrusts players into the intense world of mech battles. Set in the abandoned mining station, players pilot their battle mechs and engage in high-octane skirmishes, striving to outlast their opponents. Once in the game, players join a team. Teammates are identified by colors, while adversaries are marked in red. The game interface features a red rectangle that serves as a guide, directing players towards their enemies. This ensures players are always aware of the action, even when enemies are not immediately visible.
The game offers a HUD (Heads-Up Display) around the player's mech, providing real-time updates on the mech's status. The large arc on the display indicates the remaining strength of the hull, while the bar below shows the current level of the shield. In combat, the mechs are equipped with a force field that absorbs initial damage. Once this force field is depleted, the mech's hull begins to sustain damage. Players can utilize a unique feature of the mech: the ability to concentrate energy in the front to reduce the damage to the shield. Although the shield can recharge itself to 50%, players will need to collect pickups scattered across the map to exceed this limit.
Newly respawned mechs enjoy a few seconds of invulnerability; however, their weapons are inactive during this period. As players successfully defeat enemies, they earn rank-ups and collect gears. These gears can be exchanged to acquire different, potentially more powerful, mechs, adding a strategic element to the gameplay.
