In 3 Card Poker, the hand rankings differ slightly from those in traditional poker. Ranked from highest to lowest, the hand rankings are: Straight Flush, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush, Pair, and High Card. It should be noted that because there are only three cards, a Three of a Kind ranks higher than a Straight or a Flush. The dealer's hand must have a Queen or better to be qualified. If the dealer doesn't qualify, the player wins even money on their ante bet, and the play bet is a push. If the dealer does qualify, then the player's and dealer's hands are compared, and the higher hand wins.

In many versions of 3 Card Poker, there is an additional feature - the Pair Plus bet, which is independent of the outcome against the dealer. This bet pays out if the player's three cards have a pair or better. The combination of strategy and luck has firmly established its position as a favorite among casino goers.
