Voices United CD ROM Worship Planner is designed to assist worship planners do the following:

- Search hymns by author, composer.
- Research tune names grouped by metrical category.
- Display hymn poetry in strophic form.
- Scan a list of hymns suitable for use with children.
- View the score (musical) of the hymn or psalm refrain.
- Search hymns for specific text.
- Select hymns, prayers; assign roles within worship.
- Research hymn titles grouped by topic, e.g. angels.
- Look up prayers scattered amongst the hymns.
- Discover hymns related directly to a biblical verse.
- Display performance suggestions, as well as pertinent historical and biographical information.
- Look up the scriptures listed in the Revised Common Lectionary (years A-B-C).
- Examine Scripture Songs.
