Video Tools is an application that works as a media player and a video and audio recorder on your Mac. The program includes four clearly-displayed modules that let you play back media files, record screen activity, capture the camera stream, and record the system's sound.
Besides the playback and the recording capabilities, the program seems to provide cutting and merging functionalities. Unfortunately, the editing features aren't available with the free version of Video Tools. Basically, you can use this utility only for playing back your favorite media files and for capturing camera stream in silent mode. Whenever you attempt to enable the sound, you are asked to purchase the sound plug-in. Exporting the recordings is also prohibited unless you buy an additional service. However, a good thing about this program is that it comes with a media library where you can gather your favorite video files and play them back at your convenience. With the editing features unlocked, the media library will also preserve the video clips you cut previously, so you can merge them into a single file from one place.
Unless you don't have other alternatives, you can use this application as a video player. When it comes to its recording abilities, the free version of Video Tools is almost useless.
