uPic is a simple application designed to help you compress image files. Having the size of your images considerably reduced, you will be able to upload or share your files with ease. Optionally, you can convert your pictures into most popular image formats.
The utility opens with a clear-cut and intuitive user interface. You have the ability to import multiple images at once and even an entire folder of files for batch processing. Unfortunately, only four image formats support being optimized in terms of size: PNG, JPG, BMP, and TIFF. Once the pictures are loaded into the app, the compression takes place instantly. The resulting files may replace the originals or they can be stored as new items at a computer location of your choice. A mirror-like preview allows you to compare the resulting image with the original to see the differences. The program also works as an image converter. The range of output formats isn't very extensive, being limited to PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIFF, HEIC, and HEIF. Unfortunately, previewing before conversion isn't supported.
In short, uPic offers a simple solution to compress images for easy sharing and uploading. In addition, you may save valuable disk space if choosing to replace the originals with the compressed images.
