uBar is a simple application that might come in handy to users who switched from Windows to Mac. This program gives access to a bar that's pretty similar to Windows' Start bar where you can keep your favorite folders and tools for easier access.
The first thing you need to do after installing this program on your Mac is to grant it permission to use your Mac's Accessibility function. You can do that by going to System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Privacy and enable the option for the uBar app. Then, you can use the uBar tool on your Mac without any problems.
The program gives you immediate access to log out or shut down options, helps you quickly launch apps from your Mac, open folders, and so much more. You can change the items that are listed in the app's menu directly from the uBar Preferences window. The utility lets you add your favorite folders and applications, remove the items you don't need, etc.
The one thing I'd add to this program would be a built-in help manual. Beginning Mac users might take a while to figure out how the app works.
Still, uBar proves to be a reliable alternative to using Mac's Dock. It gives you immediate access to your favorite apps and directories, helps you keep an eye on the time and calendar, and so much more. I'd say it's worth a try.
This service will be available in Finder's Services menu and contextual menu if files and/or folders are selected.
