Typinator is an office tool that helps you boost up your productivity while writing text content on your Mac. Before using Typinator on your Mac you first need to grant it permission to operate from the System Preferences tool (go to Security & Privacy -> Accessibility). Then, the program will launch and its icon will be displayed on your Menu Bar.
You have access to a comprehensive help manual, various abbreviation examples, and plenty of useful hints. So, you won't need much Mac experience in order to work with this utility. For example, you can define the "typenm" abbreviation with the expansion "Anne J. Smith". Afterwards, if you type the "typenm" term into programs like a web browser or TextEdit, the term will be replaced by "Anne J. Smith".
