TwoVid Player is an open-source video player for the Mac. Its most important feature is that it can play two videos at the same time. It was built using the QuickTime API, which basically means that it will behave just like QuickTime while playing video. This can be good and bad, depending on what you will be using the app for. One of the good things is that QuickTime tends to be really stable. On the other hand, format support is not one of its strong suits.
There are many uses for a video player that can display two videos at the same time. You could use it for video comparison or video analysis. Or even to watch multiple angles of video footage.
The graphical user interface is really plain. There are two boxes and two sets of video controls. There is also a play and pause button at the bottom of the screen that controls both videos at the same time. By default, both audio tracks play at the same time, but you can choose which one you want to listen to in the Preferences window.
In short, TwoVid Player does a good job of playing two videos at the same time, but they have to be encoded using formats that QuickTime can play.
