Trackhunter is a program designed for music enthusiasts who wish to find the latest underground tunes, without using their default browsers. This application helps you keep track of the newest music available on services like Amazon MP3, iTunes, Hard To Find Records, and many others.
Once you launch this tool on your computer, a Settings Wizard window will appear on your desktop. From there, you can choose the songs sources (Beatport, Amazon MP3, etc.), the preferred genres, recording quality (Lossy or Lossless), and how much music you wish to get access to (last couple of days, one week, etc.). Afterwards, the application will start searching online based on your selections and reveal the found music files.
You can configure the utility to display the tunes that became available a few days ago, sort the music files by title, genre or release date, and mark the songs you played as Listened. Furthermore, the app lets you create a separate list with the tunes you wish to acquire and check their prices at any time.
Trackhunter lets you pre-listen segments from the found tunes. Within the Shortlist screen, you will be able to see the lowest price for the preferred songs and from which music sharing service your can buy them.
In my opinion, it's definitely worth installing this free application on your Mac if you wish to stay in touch with the latest underground music releases.
