This way, you can save segments of your favorite music tracks and use them as ringtones for your personal portable device. You no longer need to search for already-made ringtones, which often may not be those you're actually looking for. Instead, you can make use of this simple and handy tool to create the ringtones you would like to hear as alarm or incoming call sounds on your phone.
The program comes with a straightforward and rather dull, yet intuitive and easy-to-use interface. All the main functions are right there at hand, so that using the app becomes a hassle-free task. Thus, all you need to do is upload a media file (both video and audio formats are supported) into the program's input panel. Once the file is imported, the utility makes an analysis of the sound track and determines the recommended clip duration. The length of the output audio file is calculated automatically, taking into account the ringtone types, which can either be an alarm or an incoming call sound. Fortunately, you’re not required to respect the program's presets - you have the possibility to modify the target clip length as you wish. Another good feature is the ability to fade in or out the sound, both at the beginning and at the end of the ringtone. Before actually saving the output file, the app lets you preview the ringtone you have just created.
Tones Maker seems to be mainly created for beginners, as it doesn't come with complicated settings. Most of them are already preset by the developer, so that you won't encounter any hurdle in using this tool. However, I would like it to offer me the possibility to insert numeric length coordinates instead of manual dragging of the target file's limits. This way, the time-related precision would be more accurate. What's more, the program misses a delete button for removing an imported file. If you want to change the source file, you need to close the app and open it once again.
