Just prior to passing away, a scientist imparts his guilt-ridden confession to an assistant, admitting that he has activated a chain reaction of uncontrollable events. To figure out what the scientist meant, the assistant goes back to the lab and discovers a dismantled spherical machine, accidentally reactivating it. Now, the assistant is hurling through time, not only trying to find the way back home, but attempting to correct the scientist's mistake.
