The Sims 2: FreeTime is the seventh expansion pack in the The Sims 2 video game series. This expansion allows Sims to pursue employment in five new careers that include dance, entertainment, intelligence, oceanography and architecture.
There are ten hobbies included in the expansion pack: fitness, cooking, music/dance, sports, nature, science, films/literature, gaming, tinkering, and arts/crafts. Every Sim is generated with a pre-set "favourite" hobby which cannot be changed by the player.
The Lifetime Aspiration feature has been improved in this expansion pack. It is now shown on the GUI as a segmented bar, close to the standard Aspiration meter, and for every segment filled the player is awarded a Lifetime Aspiration Point.
FreeTime presents new elements, including a basketball hoop (previously in The Sims), pottery wheel, toddler activity table, modular synthesizer, hobby train table and others. The game also has costumes related to the Sims' hobbies, for example a Cuisine Sim can buy a dress with an apron.
