The Chronicles of Riddick 2.0.0.10

The Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena is an action game. It is a follow-up to The Butcher Bay, one of the first best sellers for next generation consoles. When you buy the DVDROM, you get a remake of The Butcher Bay and the whole single player campaign of Assault of Dark Athena. The new version looks astoundingly good. The textures are great. I can say that I haven't seen something like this before. The character models are very expressive and you can even see when they are tired, after long levels.

The game takes place after what happened in the previous game, and you wake up on Athena, a spaceship. Somehow, you manage to get free and have to find a way to get off the ship and to safety. This is a first-person game, but, unlike other games in the genre, you don't even see your arms when you are not fighting. You see everything Riddick sees, but you only see your hands/arms/legs when you use them to attack an enemy or activate something.

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best games based on a movie or elements from a movie. The voice acting is marvelous and I even heard the game was directed by Vin Diesel himself. There are plenty of action scenes in the game. Overall, Assault on Dark Athena is a pretty dark experience, with dark levels and intense fights.
