The SymbolTexture plugin for Illustrator CS2, CS1, and 10 creates backgrounds, textures, designs, abstract designs, frames, and more based on symbols in the symbol palette. It can use native symbols or user-created symbols, and applies them in hundreds of different ways to create unique designs. It also has layer features for use with animations, and a demo is available on the graphicxtras website.
