Streaming Audio Recorder allows performing many different operations involving audio. In this regard, the application allows not only listening to online music but also recording sound streams, downloading audio files and converting them into other formats. This tool has a very nice and straightforward interface, so users with only a few computer skills can use it right away. However, some very handy features, such as the Audio Converter, CD Burner, and CD Ripper, lie hidden in the menu and are given no graphical hierarchy in the interface.

The tool allows recording streaming audio, which is very useful when you don´t have the possibility of downloading it as a file, such as in the case of radio programs. Moreover, it lets you search the Internet for specific titles, and even retrieve the list of the ten most popular songs. Then, you can decide which of them to download with the program. All your recorded and downloaded files are then organized in a media library.

The application has some editing and converting features as well. It lets you convert files to different audio formats, make basic modifications to audio tracks, and extract audio from video. And not only that, it can rip audio CDs, burn audio or data CDs, and transfer music to iTunes. Should you want to listen to online radio, there´s a long list of stations organized by genre, language, and region.

The tool allows scheduling a recording at a given time interval. However, I would have liked to be given the chance to specify other parameters, such as the source. This would be very convenient when you want to record a specific radio program.

All in all, Streaming Audio Recorder is an excellent and versatile sound tool. It gathers in itself features that would otherwise require the use of various independent tools. It is, therefore, a program I strongly recommend for all kinds of users.
