A monster survival game

Space Survivor is a free game for mobile devices. The premise of the game involves the player being trapped in a sci-fi environment with other players and a series of monsters. The game features an element of base-building in that the player can earn gold and upgrade their "asylum" for protection against the monsters.

Comparisons to the popular asynchronous multiplayer game, Among Us, are inevitable with Space Survivor. The premise of the game is quite close to Among Us, but the art style is essentially a direct copy. The gameplay here differs somewhat in that it is more about defense than subterfuge.

Survive the monsters

In Space Survivor, the player takes on the role of a character trapped in a futuristic environment with monsters. When the darkness comes, the monsters will attack. The player must find a place to hunker down until the darkness retreats, but finding somewhere to hide doesn't make them safe, as the monsters can break into the player's bunker and kill them.

Earn gold and upgrade the base

The core gameplay of Space Survivor involves the player earning gold which can then be used to repair and upgrade their safe room. Upgrades include better defenses but also offensive measures that attack the monster. There are several monsters of varying strengths to contend with, and the difficulty increases with progress.

A fun yet unoriginal game

Space Survivor should appeal to fans of 2D monster survival games, though there is little to distinguish this game from the many other examples available. It draws heavily on the visual style of Among Us, which may be a positive for fans of that game, though the gameplay is subtly different.
