SoundCloud is a popular music sharing website where you can find the latest songs, mixtapes, and podcast recordings. It also connects you to the artists, helping you keep track of their newest tunes and, if possible, download them to your Mac. This program is exactly what its name suggests: a utility that enables you to download content from the SoundCloud website.
All you need to do is to paste the download URL of the song you wish to fetch and the app will immediately export it to the selected destination folder. You can also use the integrated browser to search the music you wish to download. Unfortunately, the player within the browser doesn't work.
Another thing I noticed while testing the app was that it can download music that's not available for free on the SoundCloud website. Hence, it violates the license agreement from the SoundCloud website.
Every song you download from SoundCloud is saved as an MP3 file and its quality and metadata are preserved.
To conclude, it's worth installing this free app on your Mac if the aforementioned disadvantages don't mean much to you. The program is intuitive, supports batch processing, and provides you with the quality songs you need within moments.
