Sorceress Free is the free version of the Sorceress Solitaire game developed by Dogmelon. It is a modern take on the solitaire format, adding power-ups in the form of 'magic potions'. These potions produce a number of different effects and help to add a new tactical dimension to the game, because they need to be deployed carefully, at the right time, in the right situation.
The addition of the potions has helped to re-energize the game of solitaire. For example, the 'shuffle' potion will shuffle a stack of cards. Used at the right moment, this can help to save a game from ending prematurely, but it may not always produce a positive outcome, as the newly shuffled stack could actually be worse than it was before. As a result, there is an element of risk attached to using it. Other potions include 'reveal', which allows players to see the cards in a stack, and 'burn', which allows players to burn a card and get rid of it.
It is important to mention that the free edition does have certain limitations. While the full paid version offers seven different variants of solitaire, including spider solitaire, Russian solitaire and pyramid solitaire, the free version only offers four game types. Moreover, some of the potions from the full game do not appear in the free edition, and neither does the 'undo' function. Nevertheless, Sorceress Free is a fun and functional solitaire game, and the addition of the power-ups helps to freshen up the entire experience.
