The Sophos Windows Shortcut Exploit Protection Tool is a security utility that works to protect users from malicious Windows shortcut exploits. It runs every time Windows attempts to display an icon associated with a Windows shortcut and will validate the shortcut. If the shortcut is not malicious, the icon will be displayed, otherwise a warning message will be shown and the icon will be blocked.
