Sound Forge Audio Studio has some cool features that make it quite useful.
First of all, it is quite easy to use. There are not much confusing stuff that only professional audio editors need.
We can easily record audio from any input source like a microphone.
The memory requirements are less and the program is quite fast in encoding and decoding. It does seem to have support for WMA, MP3, WAV, RM, etc; the common file types, but there you have a small limitation.
ACID tools helps in looping. We have audio enhancement or amplifier, noise reduction, equalizer, ability to burn CDs, etc are available that any such program should have. Its quite easy to cut, copy, paste, the audio tracks. You only need to drag a file into the audio bar.
It includes a lot of plugins from Nero for audio interlacing, quicktime format decoding,etc.
It includes "audio restoration" which can be used to restore/recover available audio from an old CD or tape. It has options for noise removal to enhance audio.
Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio 9.0 is quite similar to Sony Sound Forge 9.0
but costs less than 1/5th of it. But it only have less plugins and presets.
One main drawback I would point out is that it supports only 2 channel audio.
