SnowFox DVD Ripper is a commercial DVD ripper for Mac. It can be used to copy your DVD movies and convert them into the following formats: MPEG-4, H.264, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV and 3GP. Those are the most popular formats, and they allow you to play your converted movies on PCs, Macs, mobile playback devices, and cell phones. Of course, there are conversion profiles for some of those devices, and the iPod, iPad, and iPhone have their own categories, with two or three profiles each.
Graphically, the app looks quite nice. The interface is smooth and responsive and everything is where it should be. There is a video player on the right, with the conversion settings below it. At the bottom of the screen, you will find two drop-down menus that you can use to select the audio and subtitle tracks that you want to use with your files.
This DVD ripper works well, but it really is missing some key features. First, it doesn't have a video editor. It does offer a trimmer, but you have to manually type in the time values. Second, the output format support is not the best out there. You can find rippers with both these features for the same price or less.
