Snackr is a great little Adobe AIR application for Windows. It connects to your RSS feeds and shows them in a ticker at the bottom of your screen. The application is in an early production stage, but it shows that it has a lot of potential. The looks of this application are certainly a match for commercial-grade applications. It just looks great. I absolutely love seeing my news scroll at the bottom of my monitor at all times. So, I don't have to go open Google Reader, just to see if there are 2 or 3 new articles. The application is absolutely free but you need to have the Adobe AIR mainframe installed for it to install and work. Snackr also supports Mac OS X, which is great. You can have this great app wherever you go. That is one of the greatest things about Adobe AIR. It is universal. The news that you see down at the bottom of the screen can be clicked, and that will expand them into your active browser or whatever browser you tell Snackr to use as default. You can also have Snackr show images and articles as little pop-ups, but I prefer to read articles at full size.
