SMSRotateD is a lightweight Mac application that automatically flips your screen, based on the data received by the Sudden Motion Sensor of your Apple notebook. Even though this application is designed as a demonstrational tool, it can be quite useful if you want to view how your screen will automatically adjust whenever you modify the position and orientation of your notebook.
After launching SMSRotateD, you will be greeted by a simple and intuitive interface and, in order to enable the rotation process, all you have to do is click on the "Start" button. Keep in mind that, for some notebooks, in order to correctly display the screen and modify the orientation between landscape and portrait, you might have to select to flip the screen by the X or Z axis.
Furthermore, you don't have to be worried that SMSRotateD will incorrectly rotate the screen and you won't be able or have a hard time reverting screen position to the original. By closing this application (escape key) the process will be instantly terminated.
Overall, SMSRotateD is a demonstrational tool that is worth trying if you want to be able to rotate your screen. This application can help you correctly display your desktop and any running applications in case you physically rotate your notebook.
