SmartZipper Viewer is intended for on-the-fly browsing of the contents of compressed files. Despite the name of the app may suggest otherwise, this tool supports not only ZIP but also many other file extensions, including RAR, TAR, ZIP, ISO, GZIP, STUFFIT, 7Z, and LZMA.
The application has an easy-to-use interface, which in many respects resembles that of a file browser and allows you to navigate the folder structure of the selected drive. In this respect, archives are treated as folders and their contents can be explored without prior decompression. Additionally, it has the advantage of providing detailed info about some types of files, such as audio, video, and images. In the case of photographs, it is possible to view their EXIF data, for instance. Likewise, it lets you view hexadecimal information. Luckily, it supports searching for specific files based on their name or extension.
Regrettably, even though SmartZipper Viewer works perfectly with local directories, it seems to have difficulty to import archives from networked drives.
All in all, SmartZipper Viewer feels like a limited version of SmartZipper. In this respect, it will not readily allow decompressing files to the desired directory, let alone compressing files. However, you can use it to decompress data if you acquire this feature via in-app purchases.
