Smart Recorder is a program developed for Mac users who wish to record their screen activity with ease. You can work with this application whenever you wish to capture tutorials, game walkthroughs, and many others.
You can choose between two recording modes: Fullscreen and Custom Area. For the latter you need to select the area you wish to record from the screen by dragging your mouse and forming a rectangular shape.
The application also provides you with options to record audio content, select output quality, and highlight mouse clicks actions. Once you stop the recording process, a new video file is created on the destination folder that you selected from the main window of the app.
Basically, you won't need much computer experience to handle this program. All output configurations are simple to set up and the app's interface is very intuitive.
A disadvantage is that the app supports only one output format MOV. Other popular file formats, such as MP4, FLV, AVI, etc., are not supported. Another aspect I don't like is that the program lacks video editing options for the recorded files (trim, annotate, watermark, etc.).
Hence, I'd recommend you to try other video recording tools for capturing screen activity on your Mac.
