SketchBook is a utility designed by the popular Autodesk company. The program is filled with various drawing tools and can be used by digital artists of all experience levels.
You can import pictures from your local directories and use the integrated tools to edit them or create new drawings from scratch. I tested most of the editing utilities and they all worked flawlessly; I especially liked drawing with the Chisel Tip Pen.
The program enables you to add as many layers as you like to your image. The built-in layer editor gives you access to various settings that can easily be configured even by a beginner digital artist.
Another thing I like is that you can move the main toolbar (containing the basic drawing tools) anywhere on the screen, even outside the program's interface. The same thing goes for the rest of the built-in tools, such as the Brush Palette, Layer Editor, etc.
Two issues I have with this tool: it supports a small number of image formats and the fact that it occasionally runs slow, especially when exporting the resulting drawing.
However, the aforementioned disadvantages can easily be overlooked as SketchBook indeed offers you quality output files and excellent drawing tools at no price. I'd say it's worth giving it a try.
