The Nānakshāhī calendar was created to fulfill the need for an independent, Gurmat-based calendar for the Sikh community. However, despite some appreciation, the calendar has not been widely adopted. To help popularize the calendar, a software program called Sikh Desktop Calendar has been developed. This program will help users become familiar with the twelve months in GurbāNī.
