Bamboo bridges have proven to be a common sight in the urban areas of Bangladesh since the medieval times. Even till date, such bamboo bridges, locally known as SHAKO, are used to cross small lakes of wings of rivers across the country. Everyday numerous people pass through these bridges to reach their destinations.
