ScanSpyware is capable of identifying and fixing nearly 300,000 different threats and malicious software programs, and that includes many kinds of spyware, malware, adware, and most probably all viruses known to date. Its preliminary scanning speed is extremely fast, and its double-checking tools give you an honest portrait of what your system drives look like in terms of the amount and the potential threat level of the unwanted objects found. As it happens with most anti-virus trials, ScanSpyware’s unregistered version will detect and identify, but not fix.

The application comes in a stylish and pro-looking interface that is somehow reassuring. Unlike other anti-virus tools which usually come with an outdated threats database that needs updating just fifteen seconds after you installed the whole thing, ScanSpyware always downloads a brand new updated database during the installation process itself, thus saving you precious time. It performs two different scans – a preliminary one, to make a first snapshot of how healthy your system looks and how healthy it actually is, and a second, slower, deeper analysis of all those files or objects the program finds suspicious according to its database.
