ScanToPDF is intended to convert hard-copy documents into PDF files. The application can import pages directly from a scanner. Besides, it supports creating a portable document from standard image files. The tool has a straightforward interface, so much so that it’s quite improbable that someone can have any difficulty to use.

When you’re scanning a document, the application opens automatically at the touch of the corresponding scanner button. Then, you can easily digitalize various pages in a row. Likewise, it can process batches of pictures from a given folder or extract them from another PDF. In both cases, you can arrange the pages and pick the ones you wish to include in the electronic document. It’s also possible to add metadata and a set of restrictions to the resulting file. Unfortunately, the tool doesn’t support optical character recognition (OCR). In addition to saving the file to a standard folder, the tool can attach it to a message using your default email client.

It’s a pity that ScanToPDF seems to still have some bugs. For instance, it continuously shows error messages for every incompatible file type it finds when importing from a folder. In my opinion, it could simply skip those files instead. Besides, it seems to freeze when you press the Cancel Importing button, and it won’t start working again until you delete one of the pages. Finally, the Help command doesn’t do anything when you press it. Therefore, I suggest you wait for a new debugged version to be released.
