Rite of Passage: Child 2.0

In Rite of Passage: Child of the Forest you play as a young woman who lives in the Willow Ridge town. Your city is surrounded by a dark forest where haunted trees attack anyone who adventures into the forest. Willow Ridge's sole protection against these evil trees is the lighthouse which has now been damaged in a fire. Your goal is to find out who is behind the fire and save your city from the cursed trees.

The introductory cinematic shows the main character going after her husband deep in the haunted forest. You are forced to return to the town where you notice that the lighthouse that protected the city is in flames. From now on, the game will display various goals which you will need to complete. For instance, your first task is to banish a cursed tree.

For each assignment you need to collect a certain amount of items. Each scene comes with several puzzles which once they're solved give you access to a useful object. I like the fact that the developers created various types of challenges, like hidden object levels or missions where you need to guide an item through many obstacles.

Another great thing about this game is that you can always change the difficulty level. You just need to go to Options menu and select the preferred difficulty level (Casual, Experienced, Masterful or Custom).

One tiny aspect I don't like: when playing the cinematics or interacting with other characters, the faces of the people who are chatting with you don't move. The app only plays the audio and shows you a subtitle on the bottom side of the screen.

Nevertheless, Rite of Passage: Child of the Forest is an exciting puzzle game that brings you a fascinating plot and many challenges. So, I'd say it's worth buying it if you're into playing hidden object games.
