RetroShare is an open source peer to peer application. It will let you share various files with your friends and relatives through the Internet, as well as chat with them.
The application has an intuitive and attractive interface, and is easy to use. Moreover, if such kind of applications sounds not familiar to you, RetroShare provides you with a Quick Start wizard that will help you configure the application quickly and easily.
The application grants your transfers and communication to be secure: when inviting a friend or accepting one, you need to send/accept a secure certificate, and later set RetroShare to receive the files from the confirmed contacts. Moreover, you will be enabled to adjust the program's numerous options. For example, you will be able to set the program to start when the system starts, to auto login not to enter the password each time the application is started. The server and transfer options are also adjustable: you will be able to set network configuration (Automatic (Upnp), Firewalled, or Manual forwarded port), IP service, transfer rates, and, of course, appearance.
The program requires GPg to be installed on your PC. If you do not have one, it is offered to be installed together with RetroShare. GPg is a tool for secure communication and data storage. It can be used to encrypt data and to create digital signatures. It includes an advanced key management facility and is compliant with the proposed OpenPGP Internet standard.
