Resident Evil 6 is part of Capcom’s classic Resident Evil franchise in which Bio Organic Weapons pose a constant threat to the protagonist. In this game, you may choose between four protagonists who run through unique campaigns of their own.
After the groundbreaking game Resident Evil 4, and after watching Leon in the CGI movies, you may worry that Leon is due to go the way of Freddy Kruger, but worry not as Capcom manage to successfully leverage the action-centric buzz of the CGI movies and bring it over to Resident Evil 6 in a survival horror action game. Forget chasing keys and moving boxes, you are hurled into a conspiracy adventure where BOWs have been honed into controllable and unstoppable machines that are frighteningly efficient when compared to their predecessors.
If one had to pick faults, one could argue that Resident Evil 6 has abandoned its paced survival horror genre for survival action, which may not be to everybody’s taste. Also, the game is rife with Quick-Time events and it has an unskippable death animation that becomes annoying. This game has grown into an action game, which is a natural stop off point for the franchise before RE7 took it back to being a scary slow-paced horror. If you hate the type of gameplay that made Uncharted famous, then you should skip ahead to RE7 and give RE6 a miss. Do not watch the RE6 trailer because they do a “Terminator Genysis” on you and tell you the twist in the trailer.
