Remind is a simple Mac application that sits in your Menu Bar and allows you to set reminders with minimum effort. The goal of this easy-to-use yet helpful program is to prompt messages on your desktop with the tasks that need to be completed until their due time.
You can configure the alarm settings for a task by going to Preferences menu. The app lets you enter a message for the assignment, enable the sound alarm if necessary, and set the timer according to your needs.
Once the timer goes off, a message is prompted on your desktop. The only way to get rid of this window is to click the OK button.
In my opinion, it would be great if the application would come with an option to select a chime for the alarm. The program plays a sound alarm once a task is completed and I can barely hear it, even with a music player on pause.
All in all, Remind is a free application that offers you a simple way to keep track of your daily tasks. Hence, I can't find any reasons why you shouldn't install it on your Mac and use it when you need to remember about the assignments you need to complete before the end of the day.
