The app lets you choose between three types of alarms (sound, email or message), set a hotkey for entering a new event data, and set the proper event length. Once you write the necessary details for your reminder, the app immediately sends the entered info to Mac's Calendar app.
An important advantage of Remind Me Later is that it has powerful character recognition. For instance, if you type "tomorrow" or "3PM" within the reminder info, Mac's Calendar identifies it and sets an alarm for the entered date and time.
The only thing I don't like about working with this tool is that the Preferences menu can be launched when the main window of the app is closed.
