Reduce Image Size has a self-explanatory name. This tool is intended to reduce the size of image files to make them easier to transfer, load or store. Moreover, it includes a few basic editing features.

The application is so straightforward that most users can probably use it without any help whatsoever. It has a very simple workflow consisting of loading the intended files, choosing an output format and setting a target directory. Although adding effects is optional, most of the time, it is necessary. Finally, you can proceed to process the files.

Luckily, this tool supports importing batches of images, which you can do individually or by entire folders. It is good that you can browse your list and preview the images. Good news is that it supports a wide range of input and output formats, including JPG, PNG, GIF and BMP. There are various types of effects, but setting a scale level is definitely the most important. In this respect, you can change the value by entering the desired percentage or the exact measures in pixels. Besides, you can rotate images as well as add both text and image watermarks. In my opinion, it is a shame that it does not let you crop pictures.

All in all, this application can reduce the size of your images without noticeably affecting their original quality. Even though the tool is intended for reducing file size, I wish it could also help upscale pictures and enhance their quality. The product is available from the Mac Store and, unluckily, its price feels excessive to me.
