Recordpad Sound Recorder 9.03

If you ever need to record audio messages, announcements, or any other simple sound recording, you may want to consider RecordPad Sound Recorder as an extremely easy-to-use and efficient audio recorder for your laptop or PC. You can record any sound coming in through your system’s soundcard, be it your own voice via a microphone or any video or audio file playing on your computer.

Once you have calibrated the input volume, selected the audio device, the output folder, and the audio format (WAV or MP3), all you need to do is click on the record button to start your new recording. The program’s interface will keep you informed about the remaining disk space and the duration of the recording in progress. Once you stop the recording, the file will join all other previous recordings at the recordings manager. Here you can search for a specific recording using various filters, as well as check their duration, format, creation date, size, and physical location. Here you can also make use of the program’s built-in audio player to listen to your recordings, and even search within the sound recording looking for specific words or expressions.

You may miss, as I did, some basic editing features to help users remove unwanted sections from their recordings or to split long recordings into smaller tracks, for instance. To compensate that, NCH – as it does in all its products – provides you with links to other NCH software tools that will nicely complement RecordPad’s functionality. Thus, you can download and try a full-featured audio editor, an audio converter, and tools to burn audio to disc, to back up your audio recordings, and even to transcribe them into text.

Though I wouldn’t recommend this simple audio recording tool for extremely long recordings with complex structures, it is surely a great tool for recording not-too-long texts, short messages, and other audio files that require no further editing.
