Real Crimes: The Unicorn Killer is an amazing hidden object game (HOG) developed by AWE Productions and published by Big Fish Games.

For those who do not know, the story told in Real Crimes: The Unicorn Killer is based on events that actually happened. So, in this game you will play the part of Jennifer Lourdes, a novice FBI agent who is in company of Alan Michaels, an older agent and her trainer, they are after Ira Samuel Einhorn a.k.a. "The Unicorn Killer", a former antiwar activist, environmentalist and hippie leader during the 60s and 70s who turned into killer and runaway after putting Holly Maddux, his ex-girlfriend, to death in 1977. All these facts were widely publicized. Most interesting is that this dangerous convicted criminal is still alive and imprisoned under a life sentence. As a matter of interest, Ira's assumed name came from his last name's meaning, and currently, you can find and see his picture in Wikipedia.

Having all this in mind, you may realize that playing Real Crimes: The Unicorn Killer can make you feel jittery, specially when you go deep into Holly's death details, in my particular case, I couldn't avoid thinking about the real person who was represented there.

As Jennifer you will be taken to the different locations where the "Unicorn Killer" appeared such as a park used by Ira to perform organized environmental protests, the market which he used as a part of his alibi, Holly's school, and Ira’s apartment rooms, always in search of signs and evidence that could help to incriminate Ira in the crime and also find clues to determine his current location.

The gameplay is really simple and easy, you'll only use your mouse and you’ll have 10 minutes to search each place and find items (clues) from a list, but be careful, there is a 45 seconds penalty if you perform excessive random clicking. However, an addition of a 30 seconds bonus is possible by accurately finding three consecutive items in a 15 seconds period of time. Finally, if you find that the game is too hard or you want play in a relaxed way, there is a no-time mode or Rookie mode available.

Summing it all, if you are a lover of true detective stories, this is the right game for you.
