Rapid File Get is a basic download manager. It enables you to download a program or a file from a web site, recovering lost connections and resuming your activity if the connection is lost. In order to initiate a particular download, you must set a file's URL (typing or copy-pasting it). Afterwards, you should specify the destination directory. If you need to get big files, you can pause the download as many times as necessary, and resume your activity whenever you want, retaining the partially downloaded file. The program will automatically restart downloading the file if the connection is interrupted because of connectivity problems. It will later show server’s replies. It is very efficient for managing files bigger than 2.1 Gb. While the program is working, it automatically goes to a compact mode cleaning desktop area.
The interface is compact and very simple, but its appearance is somehow old fashioned. The main disadvantage of the program is that it is not possible to integrate it into modern internet navigators. Rapid File Get is distributed as Freeware and it is compatible with the following OS: Windows 95, 98, XP, 2000, NT. This program is only available in English.
