Toad for Oracle is a database administration program developed by Quest Software. Toad for Oracle, as the name states, allows you to design, manage and administrate Oracle databases in a fast and simple way.
Toad allows PL/SQL scripts and debugging, as well as a database browser and query builder.
The nice thing about the query builder is that you can use the graphic capabilities of the database browser. You can visually create queries and execute them - it is a real time saver.
Basically, Toad for Oracle has several different features. You have the AppDesigner, where you can create and execute a SQL script, compare schemas, send mail, send ftp files, etc. Then you have the data browser, which is self-explanatory. Another major part of Toad is the query builder and the Data Generation feature. All these allow Toad to be one of the best suites for Oracle on the market. At a price of 870$ for the complete package it is in the higher range. However, every DBA who uses this program would not be disappointed.
